Otabek Karimov, Deputy Executive Director

After seven years of successful work in microfinance sector of Uzbekistan Otabek joined MCC "Mol Bulak Finance" as a financial planning and analysis manager.

Prior to his position at Mol Bulak Finance Otabek worked as a national consultant on microfinance in a number of UNDP projects those were directed to enhancement of living standards of the population in Uzbekistan.  Otabek supervised formation of working groups on development of micro credit products in various regions of Uzbekistan.  As a consultant on microfinance, Otabek conducted analysis of normative legal environment in the area of agriculture and micro financing schemes provided in Fergana and Kashkadarya regions and Republic of Karakalpakstan. He provided recommendations on the further application of micro financing methodologies taking into account specific characters of each mentioned regions.

Otabek started his work at a micro finance company "Barakot", Mercy Corps – Uzbekistan, in 2001 as a credit expert. Later he worked as a credit fund coordinator and conducted monitoring and planning of cash flows throughout all funds individually.  From February 2003 Otabek took up his position as a financial coordinator and analyst. In March 2005 Otabek worked as acting Executive Director of microfinance program "Barakot".

Before joining Barakot Otabek served as a chief executive of LLC "Business Center VAKIL" based in Namangan.  Under his supervision the company provided consulting services to beginning entrepreneurs, organized English language and computer courses.

Otabek graduated from the Namanghan Industrial Technological Institution with a major in Economics and Business Management, and is a qualified manager/economist.
